The Weiss Family Jazz Series* Hosts Carrie Jackson and Her Jazzin' All Stars In-Person
*The Weiss Family Jazz Series was established with a bequest to the Westfield Memorial Library Foundation in memory of longtime library patrons, Joseph and Dorothy Weiss.
Carrie Jackson, well known jazz vocalist, and her Jazzin' All Stars band, return to the library! You will be in for an afternoon of incredible music performed in the style of the great ladies of jazz, such as Sarah “Sassy” Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Carmen McRae, Dinah Washington, and Billie Holiday.
With her multifaceted singing style, Carrie sings classic jazz standards with sweet soul; wails the blues; performs cabaret and Gospel, all complimented by her engaging stage presence and professional musicians.
As JAZZ IMPROVE wrote, “Carrie Jackson is an impressive vocalist and her voice swings with life, and delivers deep soulful, musical interpretations that are playful…Carrie has many talents, and she is never afraid to use them.”
Carrie has performed at top jazz club venues in the metropolitan area. To name a few NYC clubs: Birdland, Blue Note, Iridium, 92ND Street Y, and New Jersey venues such as Shanghai Jazz, Bickford Theater, SOPAC, The Loft, Newark Museum Jazz in the Garden Series, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
