A Painting Break for Teens and Older Adults

A Painting Break for Teens and Older Adults In-Person

We invite you to an intergenerational, relaxed painting workshop for tweens, teens and seniors that will engage every student to create regardless of any previous art experience. Bring an older adult in your life or come spend an afternoon painting in a relaxed way with seniors from your community. We will start with a quick therapeutic art exercise and then use our memory and imagination to draw and paint a self portrait in the style of Pablo Picasso. This is a fun and easy art project that will tap into the creativity we all have.

Margaret is highly involved in the arts in Westfield and Union County . She is the Chair of the Westfield Public Arts Commission and Board VP for the Center for Creativity at the Rialto. She is a multi year Union County HEART Grant Artist recipient that offers free therapeutic art workshops at the St Joseph Social Service Center and the Westfield Memorial Library. In addition she is a certified facilitator in the Creative Journal Expressive Arts “CJEA” therapeutic arts method, as well as a CASA of Union County volunteer, an IMAGINE facilitator and a level 2 Reiki practitioner. Margaret is passionate about the arts and loves working with children of all ages. She is a mom to four grown children who have all studied at the University of Notre Dame, where she graduated with a BA in Art & Graphic Design in 1993.
