FOR ADULTS: Take a Painting Workshop with Shen Rosen In-Person
In this workshop by Shen Rosen, participants will choose any colors of different values that they like to recreate an image of their choice (example images will be provided). Shen will teach the importance of values in painting, while also allowing participants to feel free of the pressure to create something too "realistic."
Shen, the 6th Artist-in-Residence to serve at Westfield Memorial Library, will exhibit her work from June to the end of July. She is a 21-year-old artist from Westfield, now based in Plainfield, whose through her work, uses painting as a way to process and express deeply felt emotions. Her paintings emerge from a visceral, pre-verbal space, transforming lived experience into raw visual form.
