Tackling the college admissions personal essay this summer? Rising seniors are invited to this two-hour workshop to learn:
- The purpose of the personal essay and what it is NOT.
- How to come up with a good topic, and which topics to avoid.
- Whether and how to mention your racial or ethnic identity in college essays.
- Who is your audience? How to get and hold their attention.
- How to begin writing your first draft.
After this workshop, you should feel able to identify a topic that reveals an important aspect of who you are, what matters to you, or what interests and motivates you to explore.
