The Adult School presents The Music of the 1960s In-Person

The Adult School presents a fascinating lecture series by popular music historian Robert Butts!  The 1960s was one of the most intense decades in history – marked by increased violence, assassinations, social unrest, the continuing Cold War, and The Vietnam War. Of all the arts, music perhaps best represented all the changes: the unrest, the concerns, the dichotomy, and the inspiration.  We will explore how the musical genres of  rock, folk, classical, country, and Broadway evolved during this tumultuous decade.
