The Adult School presents The Story of the Symphony In-Person

The Adult School presents a fascinating lecture series!  Join maestro Bob Butts as he discusses the evolution of the symphony, tracing its roots from the Baroque Era (1600-1750) where it grew from overtures to operas, and moving through the Classical Period (1750-1820), Romantic Era (1820-1900), and ending in the Modern Era (1919-Present) where composers continue to create works that remain at the center of orchestral composition.  Enjoy selections from representative composers from each era including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, Petr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Gustav Mahler, Dmitri Shostavovich, and others.  Registration for this event is handled through The Adult School.  Registration can be done on our website: www.theadultschool.org or over the phone by calling 973-443-9222
